The Artist Grimoire of Celtic Artist Brenda D. Baker
Here’s an artist’s blog well worth a visit, The Artist Grimoire of Celtic Artist Brenda D. Baker.
I’m loathe to pontificate about art as I believe it speaks for itself and it can have the same or different messages to each individual, so pay the site a visit and see for yourself. The Celtic and Faerie influences are self evident and very pleasing on the eye. Power to your brush, Brenda.
Edmund Spenser’s ‘The Faerie Queene’
Here’s an excellent video which needs no further introduction than that given below by its creator chiaroscuroFX.
Edmund Spenser’s best known work. “Spenser is best known for ‘The Faerie Queene,’ an epic poem celebrating, through fantastical allegory, the Tudor dynasty and Elizabeth I.”
He created his own “Spenserian Sonnet” and stanza form which combined both the Petrarchan sonnet and the Shakespearean sonnet. A controversial figure, he nevertheless used the form to perfection in ‘The Faerie Queene’ and several other works.
This video hopes to open a window and provide a small view of his influence on art throughout the following centuries.
